LATU is short for Laboratorio Tecnologico del Uruguay. After the LATU certification application by the manufacture, the Uruguay government representative will have two-day quality inspection and product audit procedure to the applicant.
During the LATU certification period, the officers should check comprehensively the overall production flow, lab standards and inspection conditions as well as the quality management of the enterprise and selectively examine part of tires. Furthermore, the officer should consider the equipment and management system on the production flow and quality conformity like automatic weighing system, insider liner, double composites, bubble machine for conducting product inspection, presence control as well as chemical lab management and other control methods. At present, the Shandong Linglong, Shandong Sailun, Shandong Double Star and other tire companies have passed the certification
