1. Introduction
SONCAP is a new policy for the inspection and control of the substandard and unsafe products exporting to the Nigeria. The certification ensures the products entering the Nigeria conforming to the relative regulations, provides a quality platform to avoid unfair competition, prevents the unqualified products dumping and the loss leading to the nation and importers, avoids life and wealth loss including the exchange loss, prohibits the negative impact of the unqualified product damage like environment pollution, ensures the smooth customs clearance of imports and contributes to the attracting genuine investors.
2. Data submit
The manufacturer should submit
1) E-mark certificate and report or the manufacturer system certificate
2) Test report or the test report issued by related labs
3) Brand register certificate
4) Product pictures
5) Packing list
6) Invoices
7) Application sheet, etc.
3. Procedures
Two statutory steps here:
First step: PC certification
Suitable for the certain regulated products exporting to Nigeria for first time.
Submit data to the SONCAP office in your country: E-mark certificate (DOT certificate) or the test report for the products passed the ISO 16949 system certification. The labs related to ISO 17025 will submit the test report, brand register certificate, product pictures, etc.
Second step: SONCAP compulsory certification
Available to a pre-loading batch of cargo
Submit data to the SONCAP office in your country: PC copy, one final commercial invoice copy, packing list.
4. Costs
PC certificate and SC certificate fees. The costs are calculated as per the tire types and trademark numbers.
5. Certification period
With the complete data, it is about 10-15 working days for the certificate acquisition.
6. Notes
SONCAP certification has two steps, first the PC application, then the SONCAP application. PC certificate is valid for 1 year or 3 year. During the PC validity, the SC
